Re: The Super Duper American Presidential Election Thread

Dear Mr. D, you are seriously misguided and deluded. The Constitution is the supreme law of our land. To believe in its relevance is not a conservative or liberal concern, but an issue of freedom and liberty. Er... I simply said we don't always have to take the most literal interpretation of it. Wh...

Re: The Super Duper American Presidential Election Thread

I think it's just that some of us don't consider the Constitution quite so holy as Ron Paul does. That's why we have amendments. While it makes for an excellent guiding light, I don't think it's reasonable or wise to take a strictly literal interpretation of it at any cost, especially since it's ove...

The Super Duper American Presidential Election Thread

Listed are the top five candidates from both parties, in alphabetical order. Choose who you currently support for the running. You can change your vote at any time. Candidates will be removed when they drop.

EDIT:

I've restarted this poll as a McCain vs. Obama poll. Let us know what you think.

Re: Mac Classic

I don't think there is such a thing as 1.8 MB floppies, either. 1.44 MB are the common "High Density" floppies, although they hold slightly less than that when formatted. This is what you want for your Macintosh Classic. You can find some at most computer places like Fry's or Micro Center for dirt c...

It's true. Most computer geeks are car nuts as well. Post pictures and descriptions of your rides here. 2001 Saab 9-5 Aero This is a really fun car to drive. QuickTime Pro and Multiple Processors

Does QuickTime Pro make use of multiple processors when exporting video to other formats and sizes? I'm using it to export a really big video right now but it doesn't look like it is making full use of all the cores in my Mac Pro Quad Xeon.

Is this normal operation?

And just to verify this, I have attached a screenshot of these settings in Leopard. I actually didn't know this was there, which is pretty cool.

Yes... only I can do that. In the future as Info-Mac grows, we'll probably be bringing some moderators into the fold who will also have to ability to remove posts. Usually this is restricted to spam posts, or inappropriate posts (hence the report inappropriate post link at the bottom of each post). ...

Re: Yikes!

There are some upgrades available for these from Sonnet. The main problem with a Yikes! G4 is that it does not have an AGP slot, limiting your video to PCI cards. This, in turn, prevents you from using Quartz Extreme, which greatly enhances the speed and responsiveness of Mac OS X's GUI. While AGP-e...

Would "beige" and "hard plastic casing with two contacts on side" accurately describe your battery?

That would be incredibly if new batteries could still be bought for that system.

My Spotlight search box was showing up in a weird location. Logging out and logging back in again fixed it, but it sure was weird. I'm not sure what caused it to happen. See attached picture.

Ah, this I did not know. Your best bet is to look for a powered hub, then.
