Re: Replacing an iMac G4 screen bezel

Because it is a Mac? I would not consider glue either, what you should do, is call Apple HQ, and ask for the paid, one off support incident service. Even though its G4, it still carries the Apple badge. Apple use service contract schemes for new items, and these use back to base centres for repair i...

Re: fan control software

Goodday, Messing with the Apple hardware using software is definately a bad step. You will compromise the operating functionality of the computer full stop. Unlike the Pentium Windows system, Apple do not depend upon accessible microprocessor controls to control hardware functions upon its boards. T...

Re: iPhone photos to instant print kiosk

Goodday, I presume you are trying to interface to the kiosk for legitate reasons of transferring files, like pictures to the kiosk for printing, not trying to bypass the pay facility. The USB ports on kiosks are configured with standard drivers to accept USB disks. Port your pictures to the disk, an...

Re: G5 Fan Calibration

Hi my only question is what caused the board to fail, in the first place? Make sure the psu is alright, no over voltage, use surge protection or a UPS as apple advise and keep the thing crystal clean. Contact tech support at Apple over getting the old board looked over, I am sure they will want to k...

Re: G5 Fan Calibration

Hi, technically speaking if you experience problems which are rectified by the application of heat, it indicates one of two things. You either have component failure. Or you have a base failure in terms of routing and contactors. But as computers are so complex, and as Apple and PPC are so reliable,...

Re: Here it is at last QuicktTime 4. Help files.

Goodday, I have time enough to correct two points posted. The first relates to QT 4 not being correct for OS 9. Mac OS 9 installs QT 4.03 standard: there is no question of it being designed for anything less. Mac 8.5 installs with Quicktime 3, and 8.6 just updates some of its components. Therefore Q...

Re: Here it is at last QuicktTime 4. Help files.

Hi Mau, I grew up with PC's I bought a Mac because I like the operating system, and how if peforms. I like the cool temperature of a processor, about 25 degrees on peak load. I think intel runs about 55 degrees, a minimum. That affects mean time to fail, and shelf life. I am trying to get away from ...

Here it is at last QuicktTime 4. Help files.

Goodday all, As the Apple Host site is so spammed up with javascripting, and All things X ish, and PCish, I am posting up an archive of Quicktime 4 help as an attachment, Apple might post the file up on their site, but there again they might not under the proviso about being busy doing X stuff, to c...
