CrazyEights pits you against the computer in this classic card game. The
object of the game is to get rid of all your cards before your opponent
does. Any player left holding cards when another player goes out is
penalized points for each card held. The game ends when a player's score
exceeds the game limit; the winner is the player with the lowest score.

CrazyEights features:
* 2-4 player action (play against 1-3 computer opponents)
* a variety of options to tailor game play and appearance)
* save and load game capability
* on-line help, including description of the rules of play
* tracking of your win percentage

Changes in version 2.1.2:

* Enhancements for improved performance.

Changes in version 2.1.1:

* On the Mac OS X platform, Options are now accessed via the Preferences
menu item in the Application menu.
* Fixed a bug where, under certain conditions, the first player in a new
game would incorrectly lose a turn.
* Fixed a bug where the turn would not advance if you got into a
situation where all the cards were in players hands - there were no cards
left in the deck to pick up - and the current player had no card to play.

Changes in version 2.1 include:

* Control over the message font: You can now change the font and font
size used for text messages (in the Options window).
* Control over the mouse click between turns.
* The game now remembers the size and position of the main window between
sessions.
* In 2.1, when you save a game, information about the players involved in
the game (their names and associated colors) is saved - this information was
not saved under version 2.0.
* Various elements (particularly in the Options window) now have "tool
tips".

Changes in version 2.0 include:

* Addition of 3 and 4 player games: You may now play games against 2 or 3
computer opponents.
* Save/load game capability.
* Statistics for hands as well as games.
* Cumulative 2's rule added.
* Players now declare "last card".
* Under certain conditions, the wrong player would be reported as the
winner. This has been fixed.

Changes in version 1.5 include:

* Undo
* The position, size, and visibility characteristic (open or not) of the
ScorePad is saved between sessions.
* Statistics can now be reset (in the Statistics window).
* New options allow you to change the background color and the color used
to display messages.
* A separate Help menu item describing the interface is available.
* If the last card played when going out is one that forces a player to
pick up cards, the next player must pick up. (In 1.0, players did not pick
up when someone went out.)

CrazyEights requires OS X 10.1.3 with Java 1.3.1 Update 1.

CrazyEights is distributed as shareware. You may try out the game for 15
days, after which game play is disabled. A single-user license costs $10.
