Subject: (Q) Blocking W32.Sircam.Worm@mm

I'm being deluged with dozens of copies per day of the
W32.Sircam.Worm@mm worm. Since each comes from a different address,
has a different filename and often different suffix, and the messages
to which they are attached all have different subjects, there
wouldn't seem to be a good way to screen them out. I'm doing it
manually, but the huge load of attachments is slowing down my e-mail.

Any way I can get Eudora 5 to screen them out without blocking
attachments I really want to receive?

See

for information about the worm.

Cat and Mouse, often known as "Spite and Malice", is
a popular two player card game, a form of competitive
patience. Players take turns trying to get rid of cards,
while doing their best to try to block their opponent from
doing the same. It's an easy game to learn, and you're
sure to become addicted in no time.

For the veteran card players, Cat and Mouse offers three
different skill levels to play against, not to mention the
option to banter with you during the game.

Cat and Mouse also offers four unique game playing
options, as the game is sometimes played differently
in various areas: "Kings Wild", "Must Discard", "Must play
Aces and Twos", and "Short Game".

Subject: [*] CDFinder 3.1.2 for Mac OS 8.5 - 9.1

CDFinder is a very fast and powerful tool to catalog your hard
disks, CD-ROMs, DVDs, floppies, ZIPs and anything else that spins.
It has a great user interface and very useful search functions.
CDFinder supports drag&drop and requires a PowerPC CPU.
While System 8.5 is required, CDFinder is also fully compatible to
MacOS 9.1 and Mac OS X.
A special feature is the multi-lingual user interface
(German/French/English/Italian/Swedish/Chinese).

Together with CDWinder 1.1.1 for Windows,
this is a special cross platform, network solution to catalog disks
and CD-ROMs on a Macintosh and a PC.

The new version can be obtained from the CDFinder home page
.

A single user license of CDFinder is $20, multi user licenses are available.

New in CDFinder 3.1.2:

- Overall speed has been improved by a new memory engine and
optimized display functions for the main window.

- PowerFile DVD Jukebox support has been improved.

- CDFinder now includes the names and comments of catalogs themselves
into a Find operation.

- CDFinder now makes use of the "Joliet Volume Access" extension
written by Thomas Tempelmann . This allows
CDFinder to catalog the complete file name of files with names longer
than 31 characters on Joliet CD-ROMs.

- CDFinder no longer allows the character "/" in catalog file names
to make data exchange with CDWinder for Windows easier

This version requires a PowerPC and at least Mac OS 8.5.

You probably have AppleTalk turned on and using the printer port. Try opening the Chooser and turning AppleTalk off. You can also change it to another port using the AppleTalk control panel-- set it to Ethernet (built in) and your problems should go away after a reboot.

My guess is you've recently installed software (possibly a new Palm)
that reserves the printer port. Thus, when you boot from your
external, you have no problems because this doesn't have the new
software, but the port is reserved by the software (possibly Serial
Port Monitor) when you boot from your internal drive. If this is on
the right track, turn off Serial Port Monitor and try Palm
Synch-n-Quit in the Info_mac archives.

I have had the same problem. Do you use a switcher box in order to use
any other printer such as an ImageWriter. My problem was when I use my
Visioner to either scan something or use it to copy, I change my switcher
from stylewriter to the imagewriter. After using the scaner, I need to
change the switcher back to stylewriter and also change in the CHOOSER.
Then I restart and the problem does not occur.
That is how my problem goes away. Let me know if you find other answers.

Sounds like Appletalk may be using that port for a localtalk connection.
Open the Appletalk control panel and turn Appletalk off or switch it to the
other serial port.

If you're not using any networking software and Appletalk is off try
switching the printer to the other port or reselecting the port in the
Chooser.

It doesn't exist as a separate file. Best way to back up is to use "Export
Contacts" from File menu. You can then import to OE on you home computer or
laptop or save in case your OE database file becomes corrupted.

It depends upon which version of OE you are using. In version 4.5, the
Address Book is a file in the Main User folder (inside the OE User(s)
folder). but, with OE 5, everything seems to be hidden. However, you can
Export Contacts to a file which you can save. Later, you can Import Contacts
from that file.
