fLOW 2.0 is a DSP computer program running on Apple Macintosh G3
machines. It generates an ever-changing and never repeating
soundscape in real time that fills the space with flooding sounds
that resemble - metaphorically - the timbres of water, fire, earth,
and air.
fLOW 2.0 is released as shareware. Please register your copy to
ensure the further development of this program. You can purchase a
registration code for $ 15.00 online from KAGI. Only registered
users can record the output to disk and include their own sound
material.
System requirements
* Apple PowerPC G3 with at least 16 MB of free RAM
* MacOS 8.6 or better (9.1 recommended)
* Currently fLOW only works with the built-in sound hardware of your
Apple Macintosh computer using the SoundManager. ASIO drivers or
external hardware is currently not supported. If you have such gear,
it is recommended to start your computer with all system extensions
off (by pressing the shift-key during startup) so that there will not
be a system extension conflict. In fact, fLOW does not require any
system extension, only the SoundManager that is already included in
the Mac OS.

Do you frequent web sites that have thumbnail pictures that are links to
images or movies? Like Aunt Mildred's photo page, or the digital pictures
from your last vacation. Suck It Down! will grab all of those images and put
them into a folder of your choice. It will do this without you even having
to go to the page.
Not only will it download the pictures for you, it will display JPEG and GIF
images as it is downloading, giving you a mini slide show. And after the
download is complete you can click or key through the images and throw away
any you don't like. You can also open them in their native application.

NEW IN 4.1.2 -- Tex-Edit Plus 4.1.2 features improved implementation of

Interarchy, NetFinder, or Transmit. Tell Fetch, Interarchy, etc. to
"Edit with Tex-Edit". When Tex-Edit saves the document, the remote file
is automatically updated by Fetch. Slick!
The character count/status area (bottom left corner of each window) now
continuously displays the line and column of the insertion point. If a
single character (byte) is selected, then its hex value is displayed. If
multple characters are selected, then the selection size (character
count) is displayed.
A new multiple undo window property can be used to turn off the
unlimited undo/redo feature. Setting multiple undo to false will
dramatically speed up some long, repetitive scripts.
The minimum window size has been decreased and several small bugs were
fixed.

In Newswatcher 2.2.2, why is posting and email sooo slooow from my home?
Here's my setup (UCC = university computer center):
Home to UCC --- isdn--Ascend Pipeline 50--iBook 2001
Office to UCC --- iBook 2001
The News server is: DNews version 5.3d2 SO
Software: MacOS 9.1, Eudora, MS Explorer, Newswatcher 2.2.2,
MT-Newswatcher, etc.
Both Eudora and MS Explorer work fine both at home and at work. The
combination isdn and Ascend Pipeline 50 is remarkably fast, for
mypurpose. I've set the Pipeline 50 static mappings to DST and LOC
Port=113, which make Eudora and MS Explorer go faster.
Newswatcher works fine at work, but when I use the same iBook at home
everything bogs down and becomes very slow.
Some observations:
The Pipeline 50 is set to time out after N idle seconds.
Email only: Newswatcher seems to wait until the Pipeline times outs
before returning control to the user. Newswatcher has sent the email.
MT-Newswatcher sends the message immediately and everything is fine.
Posting with Newswatcher 2.2.2: First I wait; if I wait long enough,
the message appears that Newswatcher has lost contact with the news
server (after the pipeline times out).
Surprisingly, after I wait a while and cancel the post before the
Pipeline times out, the message appears that Newswatcher has already
sent the article and is waiting for confirmation.
Posting with MT-Newswatcher: The error message -48 appears almost immediately.
Lastly: While I read a News post, the Pipeline usually times out and
the connection is lost. Then when I select a new article, Pipeline
activates the isdn connection but Newswatcher always returns the lost
connection message. When I then re-select the article, everything is
fine.

Subject: usb driver for joystick
I am looking for a driver for either the thrustmaster topgun joystick or the
microsoft sidewinder USB so that I can use either joystick with older
non-Gamesprocket aware games. USB overdrive is nice but a little difficult
to configure sometimes. I like the convinience of the old Mousestick 2 or
ADB Sidewinder joystick drivers and their setup procedures.
As a second choice, is there a joystick sold that has its own driver for
older games? Also is there a steering wheel that has a driver too? the
Microsoft steering wheel is Gamesprockets aware but NASCAR isn't and USB
overdrive doesn't seem to work with steering wheels.
I like the new stuff but I'd like to run some older flight sims and be able
to copy/backup the settings easily.
