Go to the Keyboard control panel and ensure that you have a British keyboard
selected (that will get you the pound sign Ãú [shift-3]). Then type
[shift-alt-2] to get a Euro ‚é¼.

Adobe has put out a collection of fonts with the Euro symbol. (Well,
they _call_ them fonts, but the only character they print is the Euro
symbol.) You can download them from

Subject: [*] [Disk Watcher 1.0.4] Automatically check disks for corruption

"Disk Watcher" fully automates Disk First Aid to check your disks for
corruption. Results are logged. What action to (automatically) take
when a disk problem is found is 100% customizable!

The idea is "damage prevention" - disk errors can go unnoticed,
resulting in even more errors until finally things go really wrong.
Checking your disks on a regular basis is just good "disk-keeping".
Disk Watcher automates that for you.

Use:
The Disk Watcher installer will put everything in place. It gives you
the option to have Disk Watcher launched on every startup, or just once
per day at startup. Alternatively you can have a cron launch it at
whatever interval you deem appropriate.

- Disk Watcher allows you to exempt disks from being checked based on
the kind of disk (locked, ejectable) and/or based on the disk's name.
- Disk Watcher allows you to have your own custom actions take place
(which can even overrule Disk Watcher's default action) when a disk
problem is found. Such an action might be to automatically launch
another disk repair utility, but may also be to launch your own home
grown scripts... Powerful stuff!

System Requirements:
- Works under Mac OS 7.5 through 9.2.1
- Disk First Aid 8.2 or higher
- AppleScript needs to be enabled

History:
- 1.0.5 - Under some cirumstances version 1.0.4 could run into a fatal
error. Fixed.
- 1.0.4 - Now compatible with Mac OS 9.2.2
- 1.0.3 - Fixed a problem with large, full disks
- 1.0.2 - Fixed a few small bugs and included latest version of "The Dailies"
- 1.0.1 - First public release

Pricing and payment:
Disk Watcher is $10,- non-crippled shareware with a free 30-day trial period.
Payment is handled by Kagi.

Subject: [*] CopyPaste-X 1.0.1 - Multiple Clipboards for Mac OS X

This version of CopyPaste-X is internationalized. It runs native in English, French,
German, and Japanese, with online documentation in each language.

One of the early wonders of the Mac was its revolutionary ability to do
copy and paste across various applications. Unlike other areas in the
Mac's system software that have changed and progressed over the years,
copying and pasting has not evolved. How many times have you found
yourself going back and forth copying in one application and pasting in
a different application, wishing to yourself that you could copy 5-10
items at a time, then go to another application and paste each of these
items. CopyPaste gives you this and much more. It turns out that having
additional clipboards is incredibly useful. CopyPaste eliminates tedious
repetitive work and increases your ability to get the job done.

CopyPaste-X magnifies the clipboard in many ways:

*Clipboard Extender - adds 10 easy to access clipboards via menu or key
command. Without CopyPaste the Mac has only one clipboard.
*Clip Recorder - remembers the last 100 items copied via command c and
keeps them in a stack.
*Clipboard Editor - Edit any clipboard by simply double clicking in any
clipboard palette.
*Save Clipboards thru Restarts - allows all 100 Clipboards to be saved
thru Shutdown or Restart. Without CopyPaste the Mac does not save its
clipboard.
*Drag and Drop - allows dragging anything to and from the CopyPaste
Palette. Not only selections from a program, but also text, picture,
sound or ClipSet files can be dragged. Now uses Quicktime to read files.
*Clipboard Extender Palette - a floating windoid that allows you to
view/use all 10 clipboards in Clip Extender and in Clip Recorder.

Version 1.0.1 It fixes a bug in the find function: CopyPaste-X could freeze
when it searched over the end of a text with "whole word" option selected.

Maxprog is proud to present its new product 'Web Dumper' a full featured
internet tool allowing user to download web sites for offline browsing.

Screenshots available at: http://www.maxprog.com/WebDumperShots.html

If you are viewing a Web site with your browser and you decide that you
would like to make a copy of it on your hard drive, you have to
manually save each page as you view it along with embedded pictures,
sounds and so on. This can be a very long and tedious process, and in
many cases it's more trouble than it's worth. It doesn't have to be
that way, however, as Web Dumper makes this whole process very fast and
easy.

With Web Dumper you can download entire Web sites off of the Internet,
and save them on your hard drive for later offline browsing. Downloaded
Web sites are saved on your hard drive with their directory structure
intact. Web Dumper automatically downloads HTML documents along with
their embedded pictures, sounds, movies and so on while it screens them
to look for any enclosed links to other documents.

Web Dumper lets you select which kinds of file you want to be dumped
between more than 60 available standard types, the folder depth level,
how links must be processed and if it must re-link your HTML documents
for offline browsing.

We value your feedback and we'd love to hear what you have to say.

Unfortunately, the Finder can not open files/applications in the background, and the app must launch in order to process info if it is not already open. The best way to handle this is to put a copy of an alias in your startup folder, and set the parameters of the "Watch Folder". That way, whenever something comes into your watch folder, it will be processed in the background...

Hope that this helps...

Subject: Exporting an address book to a PC

Hi,
It is not always easy to play with address books and transfer the infos from
different programs or between platforms.

Entourage and Outlook have a nice export feature. You can open the exported
file in Excel, do some maintenance, then create a .CSV. A lot of things are
working with .csv on the PC side. You can also open the file in Word and
save it in .txt Be careful about what is separating the fields. It is
either a ; or a , Do some testing.

On the PC side, Outlook and Outlook Express can import a .csv or a .txt.
Perhaps, you will have to substitute ; for , or vice versa. There is an
importing option where you can use OTHER files. Pick the .txt Do not use
long complicated title for this .txt. Use import.txt for example.

Be careful however about special caracters like ˆ, ˆ, ‡, € and so on that
you have on the original Mac. ASCII code will get mixed up for those
caracters. It is better to do a cleanup of the Excel file doing search and
replace.

Pete, this seems to be dependent on my removal of the message. I WANT
the message (and the attachment/digest), I just don't want the alias
that's created at the top level of my mailboxes.

To clarify - I want to open the mail, scroll down to the attachment,
open the attachment as a mailbox of individual messages, read the
individual messages, close the mailbox/attachment/digest, close the
original message to which the digest was an attachment, and keep them
all. I do NOT want the entry that's being created automatically at
the top level of my mailboxes which is an alias to the attachment.
Or, I want to automatically delete said aliases.

Thanks for the help with this...

I was thinking about selling my Eudora 5.1 registered for which I paid the

including less virus attacks. The interface is the same for Mac and PC

Subject: USB Webcam Remote Surveillance Software

Could anyone tell me if there is a Mac software that I can use to set up
a USB camera connected to a Mac for use as a remote surveillance system
with features such as:
Ç remote monitoring through modem, TCP/IP
Ç send message to pager or pre-recorded .AV file to telephone
Ç remote monitoring with Web browser

I've seen Windows softwares that have the above features but would
prefer to implement the surveillance system on a Mac if possible.

Any help would be appreciated.

Best regards,
Tan E.G.
