You'll need to use Quicktime (Pro?) to export the .mov files to 'DV Stream'
format - which iMovie will then recognise. Once you've done your business in
iMovie; it allows you to export back to .mov format.

I see the Pound symbol in your subject heading. So you should check to see
which font you are using to read your email with in your email application
as that is your problem with that. Also what OS are you using and how is
your keyboard set up? I use Eudora and I have my font set to Nu Sans and it
works fine for me on a US System and US Keyboard.

As for the Euro symbol "ñ", it is shift-option-2, that is hold the shift
key down and the option key down and type a 2 [the one found on the top row
numbers on US key boards anyways].

It is very important that you are using a font that has the symbol! Geneva
& Helvetica & Arial [my old versions] don't have the Euro, but Nu Sans has
it for example.

corruption. Results are logged. What action to (automatically) take
when a disk problem is found is 100% customizable!

The idea is "damage prevention" - disk errors can go unnoticed,

Checking your disks on a regular basis is just good "disk-keeping".

repetitive stress injuries (such as carpal tunnel syndrome). It does

Colibricks version 1.4.0 now runs much more smoothly under
MacOS X. Some problems with resolution switching on certain
systems have also been solved. You can now see the level score
instead of the total score by holding down the control key.

Colibricks is an exciting brick game for the Macintosh. It is
native for MacOS X, but includes a version for MacOS 8/9 too.
The goal of the game is to destroy all bricks using one or more
balls. Unlike other brick games, it features accurate ball
behaviour, using very precise physical laws. Balls bounce off
corners correctly, and even bounce with each other. And instead
of boring horizontal grids, Colibricks features rotated bricks,
even making circles and spirals with them. Graphics are
antialiased with beautiful backgrounds.
Of course, it's also a lot of fun. With special kinds of bricks
that activate special effects or spawn prize balloons. Balls can
grow or shrink to any size.
The demo lets you play 6 levels of various difficulties. After
registering, you'll get access to all 50 levels.

Export the QT files to DV streams (PAL or NTSC, 48000kHz audio) with
QuickTime Pro and import them to iMovie.

BTW David Pogue's iMovie the missing manual is great.

If you mean 40 Mb/8Mb, then as far as I know, you're out of luck- and
a powerbook 170 may be too old, anyway.

I currently run Linux off of a partition of my Mac, so they get along
quite nicely (although of course you must boot into one or the other),
but I believe that a minimum install is 500 Mb. I have a beige G3 desktop.

You can download most distributions for free, or you have to buy the
CD. a floppy? No way!

In os x, I've used the gcc compiler to get open source academic
free programs working on my mac. This was very exciting to me. Os x is a
unix environment. Now that I've graduated I am not allowed to use my old
university unix system. It will be fun to go into the computer lab with my
own unix system and swap shop. I will get wisdom from other people as well
as dig for it myself.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to DL multi-part mpegs, often
posted to newsgroups -- I'll usually get the first one of a series, but
the rest show up as total hash. How do I do this on a Mac? (G3/400,
448MB RAM, Quicktime 5.0.2)?

It appears that Apple has removed the mov saving capability from
Quicktime 5. I used to be able to save movie trailers so I could play

You will get the alias, but one can get rid of the files easier. I use
KeyQuencer and a set of 3rd party additional KQ Extensions and a macro that
I wrote for Eudora to make it as painless as possible.

Also if one wanted to write an AppleScript that got rid of the alias, you
could do that. I wouldn't try to run the AppleScript unless you were going
to quit Eudora though as Eudora wonn't update its Mailbox menu until you
restart Eudora.

You could have AppleScript delete the files and then quit Eudora or quit
and then restart Eudora for you if you would like.

I like that KQ approach as I don't want to quitting Eudora and I do want
the menu updated, so I use KQ to automate the Eudora dialog boxes for me.

Those are the two basic approaches that I know of, use AppleScript or use a
Macro application or somthing to do the Dialog boxes for you.
