PolyRoot is a companion application to RPN Calculator (also in this
archive). It is a small application specifically designed to find
polynomial roots. The polynomial can be up to degree 10, and can have real
and complex coefficients. PolyRoot supports drag & drop, which provides
near seamless integration with RPNC.

PolyRoot is freeware.

Subject: [*] PubMedMaker OSX 1.2.1

PubMedMaker is bibliography software, similar in principle to EndNote
and Pro-Cite. You perform a search of the scientific literature in
PubMed on the Internet and save the search results as a standard text
file. PubMedMaker converts this text file into a FileMaker Pro database
in which literature references can be searched, sorted, formatted,
exported with plain text, rich text or HTML, and printed to conform to
the style of scientific journals. PubMedMaker has an automatic
management function of PDF files.

What's new in this version
[PubMedMaker OSX 121, Jan 20, 2002]
1. Compatible with new MEDLINE format at PubMed--MEDLINE format at
PubMed has been renewed in early Jan 2002. PubMedMakerIII 1.1 can
correctly convert this new MEDLINE files into a FileMaker Pro database.
2. Generation of Reference.fp5--Generation of Reference.fp5 is improved.

System Requirements
Mac OS 10.1 or later, FileMaker Pro 5.5 (OS X)

Subject: [*] Render-Boy v2.3.0 Documentation

Render-Boy is an integrated solids based 3D modeler and photo-realistic
"ray-tracing" renderer for MacOS computers. What does that mean? Well, using
Render-Boy's simple graphic user interface, you can create 3D designs in a
truly what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG) point&click fashion. You can
specify how design surfaces should look (dull, shiny, mirrored, color, texture,
etc) and add working light sources to illuminate your design. Then, in one
step, you tell Render-Boy to "render" it, which means create a photo-realistic
image (or even an animation!) by mathematically tracing the rays of light
around your design. You will get shading, shadows, refelections, refractions,
glinty spots, even fog, and all of this is 100% automatic.

Subject: [*] RPN Calculator 1.56 Carbon

RPN Calculator is a mathematically robust RPN implementation for Macintosh
in two flavors: PPC and Carbon. V1.56 is a stable program and should
present few if any difficulties. 68k support was stopped at V1.44a, and
that version is available in the Info-Mac archive. RPNC V1.56's features
include:

25 element stack (8 visible)
8 memories
Full support for complex number math
Scalable user interface
Smart copy & paste
Drag & drop
Statistics registers
Systems of equations (up to 5 equations and 5 unknowns)
Determinants
Matrix inversion
Prime number search
Factorization
Prime factorization
Rational approximation of decimal expansions
Base conversion
Function library (user-defined functions)
Constants (user-defined constants)
Unit conversions
Help system

This release is FULLY functional back to MacOS 8.1, and runs on earlier
version to at least 7.5.0 with a few limitations and anomalies.

Subject: OS7 aps on OS9?

I have some homemade aps that run fine in OS7 but not in OS8 or OS9. I
can't run OS7 on my G3. Is there any trick that might make my aps run?
The aps are large technical things that could not easily we rewritten at
this time. I seem to remember an article on this subject somewhere, but
can't find it.
