Digital cameras rock, but many of us have always wondered about
the best way to get prints. Wonder no more, as Alex Hoffman
compares online photo printing services. If you want moving
pictures, turn to Jeff Carlson's advice on shooting video and
editing it in iMovie. In the news, Microsoft releases a security
patch for Office X, Apple both wins a technical Grammy and pulls
out of Circuit City, and CS Odessa hosts a ConceptDraw conference
in the Ukraine.

Yank is a $15 shareware application that does three things:

1) Uninstalls an application and files created by the application by moving
them to the Trash.

2) Cleans up your Preferences folder by moving outdated files to the Trash.

3) Slims fat binary applications.

Yank is a fat-binary application, which means it runs in native mode on a
Power Macs and 68K Macs. System 7 or above is required.

You probably need to get the correct printer description file for the
HP1125C. I suggest you might want to go to HP's website and see if there is
an Apple driver for this machine. Once you have the proper Printer
Description file, select the printer and configure it - selecting the
correct file.

Language specific files - some of them take up gobs of space, the average
takes up about 22MB on your disk. I did find one shareware application on
the OS X download that claimed to remove them. Each application, and indeed
the system itself can have numerous languages that they support.

If I understand you correctly I believe you are either missing a step or the
printer isn't compatible - the selection of the print driver is only
important after you select a printer.

1) Startup Print Center
2) Select Add printer
3) Select AppleTalk from the top menu (assumes printer is using appletalk)
4) Select printer from list - if it doesn't appear then there are two
possibilities:
a) Appletalk is not turned on in Network Preferences - you MUST turn it
on for the appropriate port, I will assume ethernet, if the correct type
port is not there (e.g. Serial is not available) then it won't work
b) You really aren't accessing the printer via Appletalk. I believe the
only direct connect currently allowed is USB

Having to work on a PC, I had to import my address book and merge it with
the one on the Mac. Exporting and opening with Excel can be the key. You
can make a merge of the two and sort by email and then delete the extras.

For importing, you have to do it by trial and errors using Excel as the core
and then saving in .CSV or .TXT. With a .TXT, sometimes you must use a ,
and at other time a ; to separate the fields. You needs some patience.

Hi! Is it possible (or reasonable) to install Debian Linux on VPC4 on my PowerMac? I know this is weird but I need to use some libraries that have only been compiled from source for the i386 version of Debian linux. Since I am Linux illiterate (I don't really understand the ramifications of the last sentence, for example) and somewhat motivated by this one application (but not enough evidently to dive in and learn the guts of Linux) I would appreciate any advice .....

Subject: Large key/keybooard for mac?

We are needing to come up with a large keyboard with larger keys to train a
visually handicapped student to type/keyboard. While we can find commercial
keyboards with large keys for pcs, the only supplier we found who listed one
for a mac no longer sells it. Does anyone know of a source? Or is there a
way to adapt the pc keyboard to an adb mac? Thanks in advance.
