Frustrated by task-management tools? Matt Neuburg reviews Sciral's

lack specific schedules or strict deadlines. Also this week,
anyone thinking about marketing software should read Mike Diegel's

A Carbonized Brickles3000 v2.0 Release!

Merrimack, New Hampshire, September 10, 2002: Ken Winograd and
Space-Time Associates announced today the release of version 2.0 of an
exciting Macintosh game called Brickles3000.

Brickles3000 is an all-new game based on the 'ball and paddle' game
called Brickles, which was first offered in 1985, shortly after the
introduction of the first Macintosh.

Brickles3000 is not your typical 'ball and paddle' game. Brickles3000
features adjustable colors and patterns, adjustable ball and paddle
sizes, adjustable speed and window sizes. Even the number of paddles in
the game can be changed. Brickles3000 is suitable for everyone from the
very youngest children learning to use a mouse, to fast-paced arcade
fans.

The new Brickles3000, aside from being optimized for the PowerPC, also
features much smoother animation than in days past. A new toolbar allows
for rapid personalized game customizations, making it a snap to adjust
speed, ball and paddle sizes, game colors and window sizes and shapes.

Brickles3000 v2.0 is the first version to be 'carbonized' allowing the
game to run natively on both Macintosh OS 9 and OS X. This version also
includes other playability and cosmetic improvements.

Brickles3000 requires a PPC Macintosh with a screen resolution of
800x600 (or more), and OS 9 or OS X.

Brickles3000 is available now for a free trial. For more information,
to download or securely register the program, please visit the
Brickles3000 web page at:

iff Taxi v1.5.1

iff Taxi is a Macintosh utility for categorizing object IFF files for
use with "The Sims" and its various expansion packs. Registered
versions of iff Taxi have batch capability so you can make edits to a
large collection of downloaded objects within several minutes instead
of several hours.

New! Now iff Taxi can take your favorite objects to more places than
just Downtown. You can categorize objects for use with Vacation, as
well as recategorizing items around your SimÆs home. Take advantage of
the new object subcategories that were introduced in Hot Date to make
your objects easier to find. Also, get around the "build mode bug" by
recategorizing build mode items.

Version 1.5 is a free upgrade for registered iff Taxi users. You will
need to re-enter your serial number in the Register dialog.

New in this version:
* corrected an error with setting the Vacation flag

Requirements: Mac OS X or 9 (with CarbonLib)

This useful Mac-only program places a fully functional calendar on
your desktop. The look is completely customizable. You can change the
calendar's font, size, and the colors used to draw the calendar; the
background can be entirely transparent, so you can still see your
desktop picture; you can center the current week (so you are always
able to look back and ahead a full month at a time). PandoCalendar
can display the numerical number of the weeks of the year, display
the calendar with European style weeks (Monday being the first day
and Sunday being the last), assign notes to any day of the year by
clicking on the day in the calendar, and set alarms to remind you of
time sensitive events. You can also have PandoCalendar automatically
plot the days you work. Great for people who don't have a
Monday-Friday work schedule!

Version 6.0.2 - Fixed a bug that could cause text on the calendar to
be drawn as black squares on some systems. Fixed a rare bug that
could cause a crash when opening a daily information window. Fixed a
bug that could cause the calendar to revert to the Antique frame when
entering text in the preferences window and no frame was already
selected.

Like your professional e-mail client, but jealous of Mail.app's spam

Mailsmith and Entourage. It learns what your spam looks like, so it
can block nearly all of it. It also learns what your good messages
look like, so it won't confuse them with spam. Other spam filters get
worse over time as spammers adapt to their rules; SpamSieve actually

Dear Info-Folk:
I'm working with a 7600/132 (320 MHz G3 card)
I need some advice regarding the 8x CD ROM reader that shipped in my 7600.
It has been rejecting disks that it previously could read just fine. Not
all disks, just some. No particular pattern. Doesn't seem to be just CD-Rs
or audio CDs or commercially produced CD ROMs of any format but some of all
these categories. Seems to happen when booted from a different earlier OS
version or under 9.0 or 9.1 so I don't think it's driver problems. Is there
a way to test the CD ROM drive?
If you have any ideas could you please cc your reply to my address as well

Thanks in advance.

Hi.

I recently "upgraded" from Netscape 4.78 to Netscape 6.2. I'm not
extremely happy with the latter. I would like to go back to Netscape 4.78.

Is there some tool that would allow me to translate Netscape 6 user

I would also like to give Outlook Express a try. However, OE doesn't
seem to import Netscape 6.x accounts. Is there some tool that will help
me do this? Of course, if the Netscape 6->Netscape 4 transition can be
done, this point is moot.

Thanks.
