Subject: [*] [PR]: Brickles3000 v2.01 Carbonized [Macintosh OS9/OSX]

A Carbonized Brickles3000 v2.01 Release!

Merrimack, New Hampshire, September 16, 2002: Ken Winograd and
Space-Time Associates announced today the release of version 2.01 of an
exciting Macintosh game called Brickles3000.

Brickles3000 is an all-new game based on the 'ball and paddle' game
called Brickles, which was first offered in 1985, shortly after the
introduction of the first Macintosh.

Brickles3000 is not your typical 'ball and paddle' game. Brickles3000
features adjustable colors and patterns, adjustable ball and paddle
sizes, adjustable speed and window sizes. Even the number of paddles in
the game can be changed. Brickles3000 is suitable for everyone from the
very youngest children learning to use a mouse, to fast-paced arcade
fans.

The new Brickles3000, aside from being optimized for the PowerPC, also
features much smoother animation than in days past. A new toolbar allows
for rapid personalized game customizations, making it a snap to adjust
speed, ball and paddle sizes, game colors and window sizes and shapes.

Brickles3000 v2.01 fixes many display glitches when used with early
versions of OSX.

Brickles3000 requires a PPC Macintosh with a screen resolution of
800x600 (or more), and OS 9 (with CarbonLib 1.6 or greater) or OS X.

Brickles3000 is available now for a free trial. For more information,
to download or securely register the program, please visit the
Brickles3000 web page at:

Subject: [*] CDFinder 3.6.4 for Mac OS 8.6 - Mac OS X

CDFinder is a very fast and powerful tool to catalog your hard
disks, CD-ROMs, DVDs, floppies, ZIPs and anything else that spins.
It has a great user interface and very useful search functions.
CDFinder supports drag&drop and requires a PowerPC CPU.
While System 8.6 is required, CDFinder is also fully compatible to
MacOS 9.2.2 and Mac OS X.
A special feature is the multi-lingual user interface
(German/French/English/Italian/Swedish/Spanish/Chinese).

Together with CDWinder 1.6 for Windows,
this is a special cross platform, network solution to catalog disks
and CD-ROMs on a Macintosh and a PC.

The new version can be obtained from the CDFinder home page
.

A single user license of CDFinder is $25, multi user licenses are available.

New in CDFinder 3.6.4:

- New "Export to HTML" AppleScript to export catalog info into a HTML file.

- Fixed the missing volume icon issue in Jaguar (Mac OS X 10.2). That
is a bug from Apple, as they no longer return the "icl8" icon type...

- Fixed the wrong volume types in Jaguar (which caused CDFinder to be
unable to catalogue Audio-CDs in Jaguar, among others...). That is a
bug from Apple as they have changed again the volume signature
bytes...

- Fixed some problems with reading Disk Recall catalog that contains
"folder catalog" data.

- AppleScript command "create catalog of" can now put new catalogs
into folders.

This is a free update for all registered users.

This version requires Mac OS 8.6 and CarbonLib 1.3.1 or newer.

Hang3000 v2.02: The Carbonized Release!

Merrimack, New Hampshire, September 21, 2002: Ken Winograd and
Space-Time Associates announced today the release of a new Macintosh(tm)
game called Hang3000. Hang3000 is a word-guessing game for the NEXT
millennium. Hang3000 features colorful, non-violent graphics, digitized
sounds, synthesized speech, dozens of built-in word categories,
thousands of words, unlimited lists of your own words, options
especially designed for visually challenged users, hinting and more.
Hang3000 is a Carbon Mac application, suitable for use on Mac OS9 and
OSX.

Hang3000 is "secretly educational". It's played for fun, but you can't
help learning. Hang3000 includes a "knowledge area". This area includes
information associated with the guessed word or phrase. If the word
chosen is from the States or Countries category, for example, the
knowledge area will show the capital of the State or Country. If the
category is Authors or Composers, the knowledge area will show facts
about, or famous works of, the author or composer. You can also make
your own lists (unlimited in number) and include your own associated
information. And, you can also add craftily created or humorous hints to
help a user guess the word or phrase.

There are dozens of categories, guaranteed to include something for
everyone. From Monsters and Dinosaurs to Star Trek and Television Shows,
from Animals and Birds to Colors and Cities, from Fruits and Vegetables
to Presidents and Vice-Presidents, from Rock and Roll to Opera and
Musical Instruments. And literally dozens more!

Hang3000 includes Multi-Level Winning Streak Score Boards and offers
full support for what's often known as "accented characters". Hang3000
supports the entry and display of words in many languages, including
Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, Flemish, French, German, Italian
Norwegian, Spanish and Swedish.

Version 2.02 fixes the spelling of the word 'mosquito' in the Insects
Category, and added 'Houston Texans' to the Football Teams Category.

Hang3000 requires a PPC Macintosh and a screen resolution of 800x600 (or
more). Hang3000 runs natively in OS9 and OSX.

Hang3000 is available now. For more information, or to download or
securely register the program, please visit the Hang3000 web page at:

Subject: duplicate rationalisation

Hello>

I have four Microsoft Internet Library files on my hard this. They reside in
the following folders: Internet Explorer, Outlook Express, Microsoft Office
98, and the Extensions folder. They are all 2meg big. Are they all the same?
If so, do I need all four on my hard disk or can I have just one and maybe,
if necessary, aliases in the other three?

Thank,

Subject: ethernet network

I'd like some advice on hooking up another computer via an ethernet to my
computer which is connected to broadband internet. The idea is to have both
computers able to surf the net. When buying the cable, which will need to be
a few metres (yards) long, would I have to specify anything essential? And
is it just a question of hooking the two computers up for them to share the
internet connection or do I have to set up anything else? If so, then what?
It will be easy, I hope... won't it!?

Thanks,
> Ezra Nathan

Subject: I need your help Please.

I just became a proud owner of a very nice PB 1400c. It looks almost
new. However I have a problem, and hope one of you can help me solve
it. I have a PC-Card modem called Megahertz CruiseCard XJA3288 by US
Robotics CruiseCard modem v.34 (33.6) with xjack connector. All of the
scripts that come with MacOS 9.1 to work the modem failed to work. Even
the other slower speed CruiseCard scripts failed to work. I get the
"modem not working, reseat, and check your connections, and settings"
error box. Yes, the PC Card modem extension is in the extension folder.

Do you have the script that I need to make this work? I want to give
this computer to my daughter for school. She will use this 1400c for
the next 5 school years. I know that it is not the newest and fastest
laptop out there, but it is a very capable computer for school work and
internet information ( under my direct view). I want to thank you for
reading this request. Please help out if you can.

Thanks.
