Sync a sequence of QT movies?

Post by 3dguy » January 31st, 2012, 8:56 am

Is there a way to sync a sequence of quicktime movies?
I'm looking to run looping videos on 30 or so kiosks as a digital sign. But at some point i want it to appear as if a message is flying across all the kiosks in the trade show booth.
To do this I would have the main video play 5-10x then play the special video that simulates a message flying across all monitors. I'm guessing all videos would have to be the same exact duration for this to work. I'd hate to have to edit all as one large looping video, especially since all 30 are different videos.

There is no "playlist" feature, unfortunately. There is a pretty specific reason for this. When stopping one video and opening another, there is always a delay as the computer closes one file and opens the next. These little delays are of random, unpredictable lengths that depend on a variety of factors, and build up over time. Eventually everything will desync and you'll see a sort of stutter as the system resyncs all the clients.

You'll have to stitch all the videos together ahead of time as one big file.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.
