Arraysync in the Background

I have an upcoming application that I am thinking about using Arraysync - it's a 6-monitor (6x1) videowall with synced content. That part seems straightforward - here's the tricky part. I also need to be able to bring forward another video window on any one of those screens based on user input.

So for example, the 6 screens are playing back in sync but a user steps up to a mouse in front of screen 5 and clicks. A window then opens on that screen, plays a different, single monitor video, then vanishes.

Here's how I think this might work - each monitor is connected to a Mac Mini, all synced via ArraySync. Each of those Minis also has an Air app (or something similar) that responds to the clicks on that monitor only. Will ArraySync play all right in the background in that case with the other video app in the foreground on top of it?

It should continue playing if another application comes to the front, yes. You can try for sure by downloading the ArraySync demo.
