iBook External Display?

I want to connect a new monitor to my iBook. What do I need besides a
monitor. Adapter?
What kind of port? Additional card? Cable?

most of the iBooks have a mini VGA port that will allow mirroring to a second display with a mini VGA to VGA adapter. Having a second display with something different on it is possible, but you will need some third party software that I can't remember the name of right now, but you should be able to find it on Google.
