My roommate today bought a 24" iMac from the Oakbrook store. Upon arrival at home, the iMac did no ask him to set up a new user account, had non-default settings set (such as Universal Access voiceover), and even had third party software installed (LimeWire). Clearly the computer was not new, but I was able to verify that it was one of the new Penryn iMacs released last week. How bizarre?
A very angry roommate of mine is now returning it to the Orland Park store, which is much closer to his home.
Sad story!

I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.

That's too bad, hopefully he is able to get one that is actually new.

He got a replacement which is just super. Was a pain in the ass though, but they gave him a $100 discount.
