Mini in Mini?

Post by thomashome » August 11th, 2008, 4:09 pm

Can you fit a Mini Disk in a Mac Mini (excuse the pun).
Because I have drivers that I want to fit in my Mac Mini's combo drive.
But they are in a Mini Disk format!
I got drivers to run it from the internet as instructed!
But any way I would like to know if it works!

To elaborate on that, the slot loading drives have a track that CDs and DVDs ride in before dropping it on top of the spindle. This is how they seem to "suck" discs in and spit them out - but continue to hold them straight. This track or hand or whatever you want to call it is designed to exactly fit standard size optical discs. Unfortunately, this means that those novelty-size discs that became so popular in the late 90s are now useless on all Macs except the Mac Pro.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.
