Has anyone here ever purchased a refurbished item from the Apple Store, specifically a MacBook of any kind? What condition can I expect it to be in? Do they restore the software to factory condition?
I'm highly considering purchasing a refurb MacBook and want to know if I should consider it, or pay a little more to get brand new. Thanks!

I purchased a PowerBook G4 17" off the refurb table in an Apple Store back in 2004. Someone with a keen eye will be able to spot signs of use, but I think for the most part you're sure to get a good quality machine. And if you don't, or spot any problems along the way, refurb Macs still have the 1 year warranty from the date that you make the purchase.
I'd say go for it.
I'd say go for it.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.

I purchased a refurbished MacBook two years ago and I am more than satisfied.

I bought an iBookG4 in 94 and I am looking to get a MacBook now, you have to be fast and not shop around once your model (especially the white) is in, just because it is in your cart doesn't mean you have it. I lost one today trying to get a printer with it.
