New Mac mini server

Post by Turboladdade » October 23rd, 2009, 11:19 pm

Has anyone else noticed that there is now a dedicated server Mac mini? It lacks an optical drive and has a second hard drive in its place:

It also has it's own official webpage, but it's kind of hard to find on Apple's website.

Think of this... in roughly the space occupied by a single Mac Pro tower, you can fit 30 Mac mini servers. That's 60 Intel cores running at 2.53 GHz, 30 TB of hard disk storage, and 120 GB of memory. That incredible amount of computational power and storage expanse would cost you less than $30,000, and would use a mere 480 watts of electricity - the same as eight standard light bulbs.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.
