iWork, especially Pages and Keynote, is so good I stopped using Microsoft Office in 2006, uninstalled it, from all my Macs, and never looked back.
If you want to get a good feel for the way iWork works, check out Apple's iWork tutorial gallery.
Also keep in mind that rumors are iWork '11 is due out along side the Mac App Store.

Office 2011 seems to be considerably better than previous versions, after a couple of months' use. I just use it for simplicity when dealing with Windoze-using clients. But 'Adamcnm'? Why not just get a Mac?

I like both programs, but my favorite is OpenOffice. It's free and does everything that MS Office can do as far as I'm concerned.

iWork is a very good program and is the recommendation of choice if you are a heavy user. Its structure is easier to comprehend and is just less complicated than Office for Mac. MS Office to me is more like reading the New York Times as compared to iWork being like reading the average daily newspaper.
