BASIC TYPING SOFTWARE

Post by BOTTLESTOP » November 21st, 2010, 3:45 pm

WITH GRAND CHILDREN PUSHING ME INTO THIS CENTURY, I NEED TO LOCATE A VERY BASIC APPLE MAC ORIENTED "HOW TO TOUCH TYPE. TRIED "MAVIS" WHATEVER ON OLD PC, AND I CAN'T EVEN PASS THE FIRST TEST ON SPEED. AM NOW TIRED OF THE SAME CAT & MOUSE TYPING TESTS. I STILL BELIEVE 80+ IS EDUCATABLE BUT ??? TRIED WEB TO LOCATE AND BECAME TRASH FLOODED !
ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED.

If you're comfortable with Mavis products you can get the Mac version here:

http://store.apple.com/us/product/H3240 ... TY3ODQ5OTY

All typing tutor programs are largely the same. The methodology for teaching the proper typing technique was standardized decades ago. You'll find basically the same routines in every program.

Also, please do not type in ALL CAPS.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.

Thanks for response and suggestion. I need to avoid Mavis since her methodology seemed to impatient for an "aged" slow typing learner (age 81 that is). Ar there other programs appearing "more patient" and/or diverse in the training drills?

Too bad "kaz" didn't teach you anything about the Shift key.
Cheers
