IOS4.2

I got my wife's puter to Download IOS 4.2. Then I used iPad to installed .

Then I installed on my puter the same Itures that I installed IOS 4.2.

This time I got an error...

The iTures application could not be opened. An unknown error occurred (-50),.


Help. lol

You might want to uninstall and reinstall Apple software from your PC. And by uninstall, I mean everything. See this document for more: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.

Ok,

I did all the DownLoads of itunes, QuickTime, Apple Software, Apple Moble, Bonjour, and Apple Application.exe

Learn how to completely uninstall iTunes, QuickTime, and other essential software components from your Windows XP PC.

Then I Reinstalling iTures and related components.

Then I called up iTures. So far, so good.

But did not see anything like ipad. I then put ipad on USB port and then turned it on.

No go.

I then Ran Diagnostics.

Network Connectivity tests

Network interfaces verified

Internet Connectiion verified

Secure link to iTures store verified

All tests Passed

Device Connectivity tests

iTures will verify that your computer can communicate correctly with your ipad.

Device Connectivity tests

Support services:

Ipod support service is running.

iTunes Helper is running.

Apple Moble Device is running.

USB Ports verified

No FireWire (IEEE 1394) Ports found.

No iPod, iPhone, or iPad found.


One or more tests failed.

iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.


Error Signnature

Then I followed the instr on http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923

except I did not use Add or Remove Programs, I used Revo Uninstaller
to kill all programs including Registry Files.

Then I reinstalled a new iTunes, It works now.
