I've been googling a lot and am finding conflicting information about this subject. Can a 2006 Mac Pro do a mirrored RAID of two striped RAIDs internally without the RAID card? I know it can do one or the other, just not sure if it can do both. Some sites say yes, some say no.
Thanks!

I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.

This can be done with Disk Utility under Leopard or later as a software RAID. (For anyone lurking, to do what Turboladdade wants, two pairs of drives are first striped and the resulting RAID volumes are then mirrored.) I don't recall anymore whether that was available in Tiger.
