The MacBook Pro with Retina display is the bleeding edge of technology. However there is one drawback that its ultrafast solid state storage is lower capacity then the traditional platter-based storage of the regular MacBook Pros. You should take this into consideration when making a purchase.

For me personally its a tough choice, but in the end I would probably go with a fully-optioned traditional MacBook Pro. I work a lot with Photoshop and build up many hundreds of gigs of files every year, so for my personal situation this is a big issue. For you it may be different.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.
