I have a Mac Mini Question?

Post by Lifesview » April 5th, 2013, 10:06 am

Hi all
I have a Apple Mac Mini G4 1.25Ghz 512mb 80GB and I want to know what monitor can I use or do I need to get for this Mac? I tried using my TV with a HDMI cable and it worked
And then quit working.

Thanks for your help. Kerry

A TV isn't a good choice for a computer monitor. You can just walk into any Best Buy, Walmart or other computer store and buy any standard PC monitor, plus adapter if appropriate.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.

Hi
Thanks for getting back to me. Do you know what kind of adapter I need for my Mac Mini?

It depends on the monitor. Many typical PC displays have old-style VGA ports. More modern displays have DVI. Super new cutting-edge displays have DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort. Different generations of Mac MIni also have different ports. Your Mac Mini should have a single DVI port. So for most quality displays, you won't need an adapter just a cable. If you get a display that only has a VGA port, then you'll need a DVI -> VGA adapter. And so on...
