Need help with Itunes problem on MacBook Pro

I updated my system on October 16th and right after that i couldn't open my iTunes . i tried opening it from Finder and it just won't work .

Do you get an error message? Or does it bounce in the dock and then do nothing? Anything more specific?

How about some specifics on the computer? CPU, RAM, HD, Year of manufacture and if you did a backup before updating (presumably to Yosemite)?
