AppStore problem on iPhone

Post by Sajid » January 4th, 2010, 1:12 am

I have a very strange problem.
I was using before another email as apple ID
I changed to new one but I am facing strange problem.
I can buy from AppStore with my new account buy when ever an update of app is available and I click to update it.. It asks me password of my old id..
And if I give password of old id, it says you have not purchased this item for this account please buy.
It's for All app updates

how to fix this? Please help

It shows you for your old Apple ID and asks for a password? Is your old Apple ID no longer valid then?

Old apple ID is valid but I have not purchased apps through old one
I bought with new ID but for update it asks automatically password for old ID
old id has nothing to do with all this.

On your iPhone, go to Settings and click on Store. Is your old Apple ID stored here? If so click Sign Out and see if that helps.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.

Try signing out of your old ID and then signing into your new Apple ID on iTunes on your full size computer. Then do a full sync of your phone with your computer. See if that solves the problem.

Oh... yeah... jailbraking can potentially do stuff like that :D I haven't jailbroken any of my iPhones so I guess I won't be the best help here. Hopefully someone else knows what to do.

I'm all about keeping my iPhone legit.

If you're willing to lose the apps not saved in iTunes on your computer, you might want to think of restoring your iPhone to factory condition now before you download any more apps.

That's what I want to do now...
But how can I protect data of apps and apps themselves.
Because nothing is being synchronized.. Only music purchased through iPhone.. Even music files from PC are not transfering to iPhone
and how can I restore iPhone to original factory settings?

Hey man it no big deal! You bought the apps you're trying to update with last ID correct? So here's what you should do...sign in to your old ID and update all apps then sign out and back-in with your NEW ID....that should do the trick.

No I bought the apps with new ID
I can buy apps with new app without any problem but for update it asks password for old ID

Ok...but I would try signing into the old ID and updating ALL the apps...then when an app update comes out try again and it might let you use your new ID

It's doing that because you bought those apps with your old ID. the purchases will never carry over to the new apple ID
