itouch working keyboard dock
if you type much on an iPod touch or iPhone You know the process of typing on that ity bity tiny screen keyboard is slow
compared to the larger typing keyboard of the new ipad
instead of dishing out 500$
for the larger keyboard keys of the ipad
why can't there just be a keyboard dock where I can plug my itouch into and then i can use the external keyboard to type into my itouch
would make large typing projects on the itouch 20x faster heheh
external keyboard would be hella cheaper then ipad. I've seen a keyboard dock but it was only for charging
not an actual external keyboard thats functional for typing in the itouch

Re: itouch working keyboard dock
Apple's policy on this whole keyboard thing pretty hard to understand. Not only does Apple offer a full-size keyboard for the iPad, but the iPad also supports wireless bluetooth keyboards from anybody. iPhones and iPod Touches don't support any of these features.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.
Re: itouch working keyboard dock
I don't have any problem typing on the iPhone keyboard, and while it is a bit slower than using a real keyboard, who's writing a novel on the iPhone?
It could be that future versions of the iPhone/Touch OS will support BT keyboards, but I wouldn't hold my breath. The iPhone wasn't designed nor is intended for lengthy amounts of writing, trying to see what you've written on that tiny screen from the distance needed to have the keyboard in front of it would be incredibly bad for your eyes, and I don't see Apple trying to change that since it was they who designed it that way in the first place.
You might try learning to use Dragon Dictation, or do what everyone else does -- keep it short when you're on the iPhone/iPod Touch. Or buy an iPad. Or use a full computer.

Solution: ipad vs. windows 7 laptop
will still use itouch
itouch is pocket size can be handy
Seeking bigger key board indeed. Ipad has niced sized keyboard similiar sized to a netbook.
Ipad is almost twice the price of some decent w7 laptops
I got a few days to decide

The big problem with Windows laptops is ... Windows.
Seriously. Their main advantage over Macs is better games ... that's pretty expensive xbox then!
Their main disadvantage from the Mac is pretty much "everything else."
Yes, they're cheap. In every sense of that word, they are cheap.
Some people, however, have figured out the difference between "price" and "value."

Greenglow's post. Here, I'll post the parts you missed:
"Solution: ipad vs. windows 7 laptop"
"Ipad is almost twice the price of some decent w7 laptops"
(this latter claim is of course not actually true, but he put it out there)
