can I get my @live.com.au to work in my inbox?
on my iPhone I've had to resort to using an old hotmail.com email address because it won't seem to let me add my @live.com.au one.. anyone know how to fix this?

I wouldn't know specifically the best workaround for your situation, but you might want to use a more standards-compliant email service like Gmail instead.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.
