Re: How to close applications?
Press the Home button twice. Touch and hold down one of the running application icons in the same way that you would to rearrange your icons. After they start jiggling you can touch the delete shield that appears on all of them - this shuts them down.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.

iPhone and run several apps at once? If yes, then that's so good..... Because I only have a iPod Touch which can only run one app at once. =(

Re: How to close applications?
That depends on how old your iPod Touch is. Newer ones running iOS 4 can.

Really? Mine is iPod Touch 2G iOS 4 and I don't know about running multiple apps. Can you please teach me? Thanks.

Does anything happen when you double-click your home button? On multitasking-capable devices, your screen scrolls up to reveal a dock containing your running apps. If you don't see that then your device doesn't multitask.

Re: How to close applications?
There's an useful application called Activity Monitor in Utilities Folder.
You can see there (with many other interesting things) what is running.
But I have a question, and it happened to me several times :
Wanting to unmount all my external devices (14 TB), I was told that some couldn't be unmounted, because maybe there were applications using them.
Activity Monitor, in that case, is unuseful, as it doesn't indicate WHERE applications are running …
Does anybody have a solution ? Thank you in advance !
Best regards to all

In my iPod settings, you can choose to either set double home click to home, music or search. Does it mean that my iPod cannot multi-task?
