No service all time

My iPhone loose reception all time. To get the service back I have to restart. I do have a phone cover . It's iPhone 4 and just got it

If you live in a poor coverage area, then losing service shouldn't be unexpected. But it shouldn't be lost
and then never come back. I have noticed sometimes if my iPhone is struggling with service, like has one bar or no bars or jumps between them, it seems to *give up* after awhile and all service goes away until I get into a stronger area with two or three bars - as if it doesn't even try anymore. Anyone else experience this?

Are you certain you're running the latest version of iOS? To be sure, plug your iPhone into your computer and see if iTunes says any updates are available.
