NNTP Synch for iPad/iPad 2

folks has anyone come across a good NNTP synch for the ipad (pref. iPad 2) - seems a bizarre omission that the thing doesn't synch anyway (if anyone from Apple is watching please add this in the next OS version/update). I have Emerald Observatopry but it doesn't seem to change the iPad time so it doesn't help with alarms running late for my appointments.
