Contacts showing up as numbers

So every time someone texts/calls me their number shows up as though they are not in my contacts yet when I check my contacts app they're actually in it with the same number. What's wrong with my phone?!

Are you jailbroken? Have you tried restarting your phone? Are you updated to the current or latest possible version of iOS?
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.

Not jailbroken. Yes I've restarted my phone. And I'm using the current iOS version.

Try entering a new contact and have that person call you. The database may need to be rebuilt and resynced
