At least one IRC command works in iChat

Post by Turboladdade » October 27th, 2008, 10:03 pm

Today I realized that the IRC command for making third-person statements about yourself, /me, actually works in iChat.

So if I type /me is going to bed. the other user will see "Dan Palka is going to bed." I thought that was pretty cool, but haven't been able to find any other IRC commands that work. Anyone know of any others? To bad /whois doesn't work...

I've known this for years, it's quiet funny, as you've shown above.

if the other party is not using iChat though will the /me command still parse my name through for them or will it just show the /me?

It just says your screenname and the line as you typed it, including /me, as if it were a normal IM.
