I'm debating whether I should jailbreak my iPod or not.. I don't want to loose my music or apps.. I just don't know.. Help?
Re: Jail breaking? Should I?
It's "lose" not "loose." Never rely on a spell checker!
As the owner of a jailbroken iPhone, I can honestly tell you there's really not much reason to do it. I *had* to do it because I needed to unlock my iPhone for use in my new country. There are a handful (I mean that literally -- less than a dozen) nifty apps that you can't find a version of on the App Store, and of course you can customize the background (which would prove amusing to a 12-year-old probably, but is just boring to everyone else).
But to address your direct question, you *can't* lose your music or apps. The music is already backed up in iTunes, and the apps etc are backed up in iTunes as well. As with any system hacking there is SOME risk of "bricking" the iPhone, but it's pretty minimal.

Re: Jail breaking? Should I?
However if you brake your iPhone apple is not going to let it be repaired because you are kidding your device
Re: Jail breaking? Should I?
I'm not sure what "kidding the device" is, but it's true that Apple will not repair jailbroken iPhones. However, in all but the most severe cases its usually possible to restore the iPhone back to an un-jailbroken state, so this is not a big issue.
PS. You meant "break" your iPhone. Never rely on spell checkers!

Re: Jail breaking? Should I?
Yes!! It's not a iPhone unless it's jailbroken
Re: Jail breaking? Should I?
True it sucks without it. If I didn't have a jailbreak I would get a nexus 1
