Mac software

Post by DavidSmith » June 2nd, 2010, 4:46 am

I'm interested in finding places where I can purchase Mac-based software.
I only know of two reliable online locations - the Apple Store, and Amazon.ca

Does anyone order online from any other locations? Or reccomend any?

I'm interested in both games as well, as productivity type software

thanks

MacMall who's ads often appear on this site is one option. Other World Computing is another very popular choice with a very loyal customer base. I've shopped at PowerMax before and have been satisfied with the experience.

Macworld maintains a huge repository, similar in format to Amazon albeit Mac-specific, where software is described, rated, and links to multiple other retailers is given.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.

PowerMax and MacMall are excellent choices. If you know the maker of the software you are interested in, you can order through their website as well.

I have found that over the past bunch of years the vast majority of my software has been purchased online, downloaded either directly from the developer or from a trusted site like versiontracker.com. The last two purchases that resulted in an actual physical disk that came out of a box were Aperture 1.5 and Snow Leopard.

why not buy mac software directly on software developers' website? I think it's more direct and also safe. For instance, you can buy photo editing software direct on Adobe
