Verizon iPad?

Post by surfstoked » October 15th, 2010, 6:12 pm

Did anyone else see that on the news last night? I'm pretty sure it was KTLA that reported iPad being available for Verizon customers. I'm not entirely convinced that that's true. What do you guys think?

Yes, you can find out more here: http://www.verizonwireless.com/ipad/

It's the wireless only model. The "Verizon" bit is their mobile hotspot device that you use along with it.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.

Thanks Turbo for the info. I guess it begins... I'm sure it will be official soon, iPhone going to Verizon.

I just got the 16gig iPad from Verizon. Living in a remote area, having the hotspot is awesome... But I wouldn't want to have to rely on it as a regular source, considering the price of the bandwidth. After only two days (the initial set up period) I had to switch from the 1 gig plan to the 3 gig plan. Once I have wifi available here at home, I'll be able to go back to the $20/month plan with 1 gig of transfer. At least I won't have to worry about my travel destinations offering wifi anymore... That was a pain when meeting with design clients!

You'll have to update us on the service, etc. Congrats on the purchase.

Will do! I haven't hit the road with the hot spot yet, but since I live in what us locals refer to as " the armpit of cellphone reception", I'm impressed with the coverage of the 3G here at home, and have every confidence that it will prove to be a lifesaver when I'm on the road with clients... Will definitely keep ya posted as I test it out more!

I use verizon as my main cell serive. When i started looking into an ipad, which i am using right now, i had to laugh at the price. I use a droid incredible which already has mobile hot spot. If u have a droid save the money. Go to best buy get ur ipad for $500 then turn on the mobile hot spot on ur cellphone for an extra $20 a month for 2 gigs.

I love Apple and everything they do so no it is not a fad and in fact it is already so perfect that it will never change
Still too pricey for now. Hoping prices come down soon.
