Disney DVD Ripping Problem on my Mac

Post by Eleain » April 22nd, 2011, 2:22 am

Ok, folks, this topic maybe discussed before here (I am sorry to unable to search it), my problem is with Pirates of the Caribbean 3 so yes it's a Disney dvd, I just bought but wish to be able to watch it on my iPad 2 during my Easter journey. However for some reason my Macbook always hints me error occurred when I tried to convert the DVD to iPad 2 format.

The DVD played smoothly on my Mac, but it seems that the converted video has been damaged after ripping (cannot play on my iPad at all), any good recommendation for DVD ripping or video mending for my iPad? Thanks in advance.

I came across the same problem, DVD plays fine, but can't rip properly, So I guess maybe disney adopts some special copy protected technology, you may take a try at Handbrake http://handbrake.fr/
or MacX Free iPad Ripper for Mac, [link removed] both them are free.

Beware of spam video conversion software from China. See this article: http://www.macworld.com/article/153685/ ... mmers.html

Handbrake is one of the only *real* utilities for this purpose. Use it to rip your DVDs to an iPod or iPhone compatible QuickTime movie.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.

I have successfully used handbrake on some Disney DVD's for converting to mp4 for my iPad & iPad 2...
