AppleScript Database - Script Storage
This file is a very useful tool for storing bits of AppleScript code. It is
developed in FileMaker Pro and requires that you have the program.*
With this database you can store frequently used pieces of code. You can
also quickly search the database for keywords related to the AppleScript
that you store.
Trade AppleScript code with other developers by using the import and export
commands. You will find available code on some web sites withing the coming
year.
Developed by Matt Petrowsky of ISO Productions.
* if you do not have FileMaker and would be interested in a self-running
copy of AppleScript Database then please send email requesting this.

Dear Director User,
I had no idea if there was an existing database of Lingo Scripts. While
collecting them I created a database that fit nicely into Director's User
Interface guidlines. This is a FileMaker Pro database.
If you are looking for a cool tool for Lingo script storage then I suggest
that you check this file out.
The requirement for using this file is that you have FileMaker Pro 3.0. If
you do not have FileMaker Pro and would be interested in a self-running
version of the Lingo Database then please send an email request to myself.
This database has only a few scripts in it and is freeware. All that I
request is that if you like Lingo Database and would like to see
improvements then send me your requested improvement allong with one Lingo
Script as payment - make it something cool, not just (on exitFrame go the

Subject: [*] ICScriptor 1.0
ICScriptor is a collection of pieces which allow one to access the Internet
Config preferences from an OSA compliant scripting language. If the
previous sentence doesn't make any sense to you, then you do NOT need
ICScriptor!
The parts are as follows:
* ICScriptor, the application, is for the Apple event purists who remember
that Apple events are to be sent between applications and that is how the
language is extended!
* InternetConfig Commands is a set of OSAXen for AppleScript that given
scripts direct access (without the need for an application) to the Internet
Config preferences.
Improvements since 1.0b2 include:
* Updated to IC 1.2 headers and glue
* Added support for listing all the helper applications, getting info about
a helper application, and setting info about a helper application
* Added support for the new keys in IC 1.2, including the proxy stuff,
socks stuff, new mail stuff, and web background color stuff

Jeremy's Control Strip Modules Release 1.5.4

Jeremy's Control Strip Modules is a package of Control Strip Modules,
designed to work with Apple's Control Strip software. The modules are:
* Jeremy's CPU speed CSM - Displays current clock speed in MHz, or
indicates relative full/reduced clock speed with tortoise/hare icons. You
can also select the clock speed after you restart.
* Jeremy's Battery CSM - Replaces Apple's Battery Monitor module, but
displays more battery information in a smaller area! Also displays hard
drive status, modem status and remaining battery time.
* Jeremy's Clock CSM - Displays the current time. Via a popup menu, you can
customize the appearance of the display.
* Jeremy's Sound Volume CSM - A direct replacement for the Sound Volume
module provided by Apple. The icon shows the current volume setting in both
numeric and pictoral form, so you don't need to bring up the menu to
determine the current volume.
* Jeremy's Sleep CSM - A direct replacement for the Sleep Now module
provided by Apple. Via the popup menu, you can select whether or not to
bypass the dialog that appears when AppleTalk is active.
* Jeremy's Battery Time CSM - Displays Apple's remaining battery time on
PowerBooks that are capable of it. It can also "learn" the battery life on
any model of PowerBook, or display the elapsed battery time.
* Jeremy's Temperature CSM - Displays the internal temperature of a
PowerBook Duo or PowerBook 500 series.
* Jeremy's Application CSM - Displays a count of currently running
applications and DA's. Also has popup menu that lets you select foreground
application.
* Jeremy's AppleTalk CSM - Replaces Apple's AppleTalk CSM, but displays
more information.
Release 1.5.4 contains enhancements to the Temperature CSM.

Archive name: mac-ftp-list414.hqx
category: communication, text
This is the latest {Sept 1, 1996} version this report and should replace
the previous version of mac-ftp-list.txt.
This is a update {Sept 1, 1996} to Mike Gleason and Bruce Grubb's Mac FTP
list. It lists over 200 mac anonymous ftp sites (some with notes), over 65
Mac web pages, and contains some instructions on how to use anonymous ftp
and find files as well a format chart showing which programs decompress and
decode which files. Also there is a section on how to use certain files.
This archive contains both the text and html versions.
Please note that the html part is actually four crosslinked files:
mac-ftp-list.html, ftp-list.html, www-section.html, and site-notes.html
that require HTML Browser such as Lynx, Mosaic or NetScape to view.
Must be in a monospaced font to be readable; Courier 10pt is recommended,
though Monaco 9pt or a PC equivalent can be used instead. Needs StuffIt
Expander or equivalent {unsitins.exe} to decompress.
Please send newly discovered macintosh sites (with IP numbers and
directories to check if possible), bug fixes, and comments to:

Subject: [*] PreviewScanner 1.1b4
What is PreviewScanner?
PreviewScanner is a utility designed for people who keep a large number of
graphic files on their hard drive.
Many graphic applications allow you to create "Previews." Previews appear
in the "Open" dialog and allow you to view the contents of the file before
actually opening it. Previews are what PreviewScanner reads and displays.
PreviewScanner allows you to quickly and easily:
* select a folder of graphic files
* display the preview of any file in the folder
* display PICT files (even if the file does not contain a preview)
* browse through the files using the left and right arrow keys
* open the file using the application which created it
* delete files
* file pictures into subfolders
PreviewScanner makes it easy to manage your favorite graphic files!
Revision History:
1.1b4
* Added the ability to move files to the trash instead of deleting them.
(Hold down the Command key while clicking the Delete button.)
* Added picture#/out of# to the display in the upper left corner.
* Upon launch, PreviewScanner no longer forces you to select a folder if
the last one scanned can't be found.
* Fixed a small bug that would cause it to go to the wrong file when typing
a filename.
* Cleaned up the small application icon and the black and white trash can.
1.1b3
* Added "Favorite Folders" menu. Holding down "option" while selecting a
folder causes the current file to be moved into that folder. Holding down
"cmd" while selecting a folder causes that folder to be deleted from the
menu.
* Fixed a bug that would force you to select a different folder if the
application was launched, and the last folder selected was empty.
* Fixed a bug that would cause the name of the folder to be drawn twice if
it was an empty folder.
* Switching out of PreviewScanner and back into it now does not cause it to
completely rescan the folder unless files were added to or deleted from the
current folder.
1.1b1
* Fixed a bug that would cause the left/right buttons to be incorrectly
enabled after bringing the application to the foreground.
* Fixed a bug that would cause the "Select New Folder" button to remain
disabled after a context switch.
* Added "Slide Show". (Click on picture to stop the Slide Show.)
* Added "Size" menu with scaling percentages of 50, 100, 200, 300 and 400.

Subject: [*] Turbo Mail Processor, search huge e-mail files fast
General Description of Turbo Mail Processor
The Turbo Mail Processor is a vastly improved version of The Mail
Processor, a program for managing large quantities of information contained
in Eudora, Pine and similar mailbox files. Process multi-megabyte files in
seconds. Use Turbo Mail Processor to search the contents of each mail
message for key words and phrases. In seconds, Turbo Mail Processor returns
a list of hits with the line of text in which they occurred. Click on a
promising line and you are taken to that message. You can mark the message,
extract sections of text, reply to that message or forward the message to a
list of nicknames. In Turbo Mail Processor you can also forward all
messages containing a key phrase to one or a group of recipients. You can
extract all of the URLs in a mailbox with a single click. You can even use
Turbo Mail Processor to turn all or parts of your Eudora or Pine style
mailboxes into tab delimited text files suitable for import into database
programs like Filemaker Pro. If you have huge mail files with valuable
information buried inside, you need Turbo Mail Processor. Live E-Mail
support is achieved via Allegiant Marionet technology. Turbo Mail Processor
is shareware $24.00 US. The unregistered version lives for 14 days.

Subject: [*] Verbs 1.0 - language teaching program.
The conjugation of verbs is one of the difficult parts in learning many
foreign languages since there are a lot of inflection patterns. "Verbs" is
an application that helps you learn and refresh your knowledge about
conjugation rules of foreign language verbs.
The program lets you define a foreign language verbs databases and share
them with other users. You can easily introduce the conjugation patterns
(rules) for the regular verbs. You can also include other information about
each verb like translation, grammar characteristic, comments, sound
recording etc. in a very convenient form. Comments (you can use many fonts
and styles in the comment box) are useful to store the example sentences
associated with the given verb and to include some additional information.
The program has an exercise window. It automatically generates the
exercises to practice the conjugation of verbs. You can gather the verbs
that you have learned already and let the program generate exercises just
for this group of verbs. You can also define many other groups of verbs to
use them in exercises or for browsing. You can also attach databases
updated by other users to your own verbs database (to share comments, sound
and adding new verbs). The program can use file sharing to share the same
database in the networked environment (language labs).
This is the first release of the program so no verbs database exists yet.
At this moment, the program is dedicated to people who want to create the
initial verbs databases.

Subject: [*] YA-Base64 1.2.4
Yet Another Base64 Decoder version 1.2.4 is a simple droplet designed to
decode MIME Base64 encoded as well as uuencoded files that are dropped upon
it. It assumes that all segments of the original MIME or uuencoded document
have been concatenated into the file being decoded, and that the segments
are in order. It will optionally attempt to recursively decode files until
no further Base64 decoding or uudecoding is possible.
This is intended primarily as a helper application for Yet Another
NewsWatcher. It is not a general purpose MIME document decoder. It is not
even a general purpose Base64 decoder. Neither is it a fast or smart
uudecoder. However, it does handle most usenet Base64 and uuencoded
binaries fairly well, and it can deal with multiple attached files.
It requires, but does not test for, System 7 or later.
Version 1.2.4 fixes a problem with finding the wrong filename in a MIME
header when the base64 encoded file is preceeded by an attached text file.
