Subject: [*] Breaker 1.5.0 (an arcade game)
Breaker 1.5.0 - Release Notes
Version 1.5.0 introduces a rich new look for the RadZones, has more
challenging play at later levels, and significantly improves the screen
redraws. So if you're still playing an earlier version of Breaker, update
now to this much improved update!
Breaker will play on any computer running the Mac OS. System 7.0 or later is
required.
It looks and runs best in 256 colours (8-bit), but it will run in scaled down
black & white mode on really old Macs. Minimum memory requirements are 900 K
of available RAM; 1200 K (1.2 MB) is preferred.
Breaker is a lighthearted, original and addictive little arcade game which
has been described as a kind of cross between Centipede and Pac-Man. The
playing field is dynamic - it's almost a living thing which is ever changing
and forcing you to keep your wits about you. It's got cute colour graphics,
fast & furious game play (things SPEED UP as your score increases), and lots
of funky, noisy little sounds.
You are OG, a chubby little creature with a backback. To move him around,
use the arrow keys or the keypad ("8" for up, "2" for down, "4" for left, "6"
for right.) You can also specify a custom keyboard setup. To STOP the OG,
press the spacebar (or any other unassigned key.)
Note: Consult the ONLINE HELP for an in-depth look at Breaker and how to play
it.
Breaker is shareware. If you like the game, you're encouraged to contribute
$10.00 in US or Canadian funds. (Or, just send me your comments!) Please
let me know what version of Breaker you're running, and what kind of system
you're running it on. Write to this address:

Subject: [*] Decoder v1.1.4 - a fast, easy UU and Base64 decoder
This is a drag and drop program that will decode either Base64 (MIME) or
UU encoded messages. Just drop the files onto the application and it will
determine the correct encoding scheme and decode accordingly.
Requires: System 7, PowerPC or 68020 machine.
The highlights...
It can handle files of any size, yet still has low memory requirements.
It is faster that other similar programs.
File segments do not have to be concatenated prior to decoding.
Handles "imperfect" files better than any other UU or Base 64 decoder.
Handles multi-part files.
Automatically sets file type and creator upon decoding.
Can open decoded files automatically if desired.
Handles files that have been concatenated by a newsreader.
New for version 1.1.4
Better autonomous operation
Some bug fixes that crept into version 1.1.3.
I am sure you will find the Decoder to be the easiest-to-use, fastest,
most robust UU and Base64 decoder available.

Subject: [*] Holiday "Sleigh Ride" StartUp Snd
The "Sleigh Ride" sound adds a bit of Holiday style to your Macintosh
with its climatic, symphonic intro to the popular Christmas carol. It
bursts into action with timpani rumbling, lead by a grand piano as a
symphony of strings roles through crescendoing scales. The sound reaches
a sudden, climatic finish with the crash of percussion and the piano for
a nice intro for the Holidays.
The "Sleigh Ride" StartUp is available in both stereo and mono versions
and can be downloaded here, or at the Clixsounds WWW site along with

Subject: [*] Italian Verbs 1.2 - language teaching program
This is the new version of the "Italian Verbs" program.
The inflection of verbs is one of the difficult parts of learning
Italian since there are many irregular verbs. "Italian Verbs 1.2"
is a database that helps you to learn and refresh
your knowledge about the rules for the inflection of verbs.
The database contains 438 irregular verbs, and 320 regular ones.
There are 4 predefined custom groups of verbs:
* irregular verbs with suffix -ire,
* irregular verbs with suffix -ere,
* intransitive regular verbs with suffix -are that form compound
tenses with "avere".
To open this database you should use the application "Verbs & Nouns"
version 1.2 or higher (/info-mac/edu/lang/verbs-and-nouns-123.hqx).
The program "Verbs & Nouns" allows to:
* modify the database,
* practise inflection or translation of verbs,
* generate tests (with full statistic of results),
* record sound and make notes about the verbs,
* merge many databases into a single one.

Subject: [*] Sokoban 2.2 - the classic logical game
This is version 2.2 of my implementation of the classic game "Sokoban".
This is a distinct implementation, separate from the versions called
MacSokoban and JSokoban.
In Sokoban, you have to move treasures through a twisty and narrow maze.
What makes it hard is that you can only push the treasures, not pull, and
can push only one treasure at a time, so you may have to move other
treasures out of the way first to get behind the one you want to push. And
moving those treasures out of the way of the first treasure might move them
behind another one or into a corner, and then there's no way to move the
treasure out of the corner.
The emphasis is on logic, not quick reflexes. The levels are not timed,
nor are you forced to solve them in order. Infinite undo and powerful
movement controls (several people have called the drag and drop movement
wonderful) let you concentrate on exercising your brain and solving the
puzzle instead of wasting time repeating the same moves over and over again.
This version includes the 50 classic levels along with about 300 more.
Once you have completed the challenge of solving the levels, try your hand
at creating new and devious levels for your friends or solving the levels
in as few moves as possible.
System requirements: any Mac running System 7 or higher (even a Mac Plus!).
